My Daily Fluctuating Blood Pressure
by Deanna Blair

I began checking my pressure every 4 hours for 3 straight days to see if anything changed...NO!!!it did not...No matter what I eat, didn't eat, drank, or didn't drink, exercise or not nothing changed. It went from 147/104 pulse rate 65 down to 105/67 in 5 hours and then back to 141/91 pulse 87 in 3 hours. My dizzines and feeling out of this world is really beginning to drive me crazy. My heart beats so hard and so fast like it has to work so hard to pump the blood through it. I'd love to knoe what the problem is. I was on Zesteril 10mg. but it started going even lower than normal low. No Doctor has been able to make it stay somewhat stable....HELP ME!!!!Going nuts and feeling awful almost 24/7.

Hi Deanna
You sound stressed out of your wits!
Perhaps that is one of the contributing factors that is causing your blood pressure to rise and fall so frequently. The fact that you were taking your blood pressure every 4 hours suggests to me that you could be worried and stressed.
One of the side effects of Zesteril is dizziness, so why not ask your doctor to change your medication to one that does not affect you so much?
Make an appointment with him and while you wait try relaxation sessions, but don`t monitor! You will only become more stressed out.
I can empathise with you, even to the point of seeing myself in your shoes with feelings escalating as you worry what on earth is going on with your body and asking why a change in diet not helping.
These are only suggestions. Try them if you wish but please return to the surgery and ask your doctor if he can change your meds. Then come back to this site. The information on lifestyle changes emphasise taking it step by step over a longer term, not something that will happen overnight. Setting small goals are the best way to achieve what you are trying to do, one at a time.
