Do you wonder if there are any high blood pressure symptoms or warning signs? They call this malady “the silent killer” because any indications that one is suffering from it are either non existent or very mild that a sufferer would not think anything of them, nor make a connection that something more serious was brewing.

So in a way there are no obvious physical symptoms to indicate that something sinister was brewing, not at the early stages anyway, but as the problem increase the symptoms will be more noticeable.

Any signs of high blood pressure though, no matter how subtle need to be investigated.

If you are suffering from any persistent physical symptoms of high blood pressure, it would be wise to make an appointment with your GP as soon as possible.m Let him know your concerns and ask for tests to be carried out as well as a blood pressure reading to be taken.

Don’t think you are being a nuisance as some often do. If you notice any changes in your general health, get it checked out. You need to take it seriously. Try asking the doctor to show you how to use a monitor along with a blood pressure reading chart so you can monitor yourself at home.

Some of the reported signs of high blood pressure that people are concerned about are as follows –

Anemia which can be caused through the kidneys not producing enough of a certain hormone which stimulates red blood cell production. High blood pressure is a major cause of kidney failure, so any sign of anemia should be investigated.

Asthma

Atherosclerosis is hardening of the arteries but not the veins. It is a high risk factor causing heart attack or stroke.

Diabetes can be a symptom, but more commonly it can be part of a cause called Metabolic Syndrome X which is a cluster of health problems all related to one another.

Dizziness too is a common complaint, but also it can be one of the early warning signs of high blood pressure.

Eye Problems with symptoms such as abnormalities of the blood vessels in the retina.

Fibromyalgia

Gout occurs in approximately 840 out of every 100,000 people. It may be a symptom of high blood pressure and could be the result of using certain drugs that are prescribed once you are diagnosed with HBP. Some people who take certain medicines, or have certain conditions are at risk for having high levels of uric acid in their body fluids.

Diuretics are an example that can lead to hyperuricemia because they reduce the body’s ability to remove uric acid. Doctors prescribe it to patients to get rid of excess fluid from their body in conditions such as hypertension, and heart disease, decreasing the amount of uric acid passed out in the urine.

Frequent Headaches is another complaint which could be brushed aside as just a minor irritant. Catecholamine could be the cause. Although the chances are remote, a headache could mean something more serious. Yes, it is a possibility to consider especially if the headaches persist.

Impotence has many causes, a leading one being cardiovascular disease. It is not surprising then, that impotence is often linked, and is included in our list of high blood pressure symptoms.

Low pulse rate

Frequent Posterior Nosebleeds are also one of the main signs of high blood pressure, but also could be due to ruptured blood vessels through other causes. For example, if you are prone to blowing your nose too hard or too often you can damage the finer blood vessels. On the other hand, Posterior nosebleed can be a major physical symptom of high blood pressure symptoms, a late warning sign that could have a more serious hidden problem.

Lower Testosterone Levels

Usually these warning signs are sudden, when the condition has progressed to a more serious level, some of which I have discussed above are in this category, and if this is in your case, it needs your immediate attention.

Also keep in mind that anxiety can bring a dramatic bearing on our health, so worrying will not help you get a clear diagnosis. Keeping calm is not easy, but if you act quickly and sensibly, your fears will be allayed, so, do yourselves a favor and stay calm.

Some of these seemingly physical symptoms of high blood pressure above can be easily accounted for, so a consultation with your doctor will reassure you or at least safeguard you from later complications.

If you are diagnosed as being healthy, be mindful of how to maintain it, never having to worry about signs of high blood pressure.
